Released as a special edition, limited 5 song EP on the heavenly voices inprint of France's Prikosnovenie records, Ataraxia offer a mature and sedate collection of renaissance airs hidden beneath a summer haze.

Inspired by Virginia Woolf's book, Orlando, Atraxia offers slow afternoon pieces for entertaining in the palace, or a waltz for that evening.

Though recorded in an ancient and abandoned house for a more authentic feel, the production tends to be a bit dry. Still the delicate arrangements and tentative vocals succeed in conjuring up dreamy images.

Not nearly as lush as the recent English film version of Orlando, Atraxia nevertheless deliver well-crafted and authentic renaissance music sure to please fans of Ataraxia and the archaic.
