Ataraxia - Historiae - (Cruel Moon Int'l #x) -

Ataraxia is bringing us back to our roots, with adventurous singing and nostalgic music. Following in the same lines as Loreena Mckenit, but with more electric instruments, they leave me daydreaming of palaces, fairies and cheerful pheasant communities. This is very much theme driven music. Driving beats and ascending melodies combine with emotional vocals to make your chest swell. The live songs, which were recorded in a Medieval court, are very good quality. Though slightly more simplistic they still carry much emotion. I cannot understand the language, but I imagine they are telling heroic and tragic stories. This is a very nice CD, especially if you are longing for medieval times or if you like your music to make you feel adventurous. A great CD to chase fairy's with.
