![]() ATARAXIA A work consecrated to the
myths of Atlantis, to the legendary continent of Mu and to the
esoteric Agharti can be touching and serious only if made by a
band like Ataraxia, that, after long years of almost ignored
work, had finally some years ago reached the fame and consideration
that they deserved from fans all over Europe and the world. Those
who know their sensibility, the way of inspiring themselves so
close to psychic methods know that this work is sincere and come
from the heart of the members of the band, and maybe, for some
inspirations, also from "someone" who knows more than us about
these subjects. The Early Days is a very short intro Daytia
(a presumed town of Atlantis) and Mu-land are in the most
classic Ataraxia style, Aperlae, a song that last about
ten minutes, is dedicated to a sunken Lycian town and starts with
the sounds of waves that melt with melancholically sweet guitars
and synths. The voice of Francesca Nicoli sings words inspired
by this tragedy and at the end plays words accompanied again by
the sound of waves. Dolphins is an enchanting song with
a magical halo dedicated to these intelligent and mysterious creatures.
Agharti start with some frightening vocals that might make
come to mind the threshold Guardian and continues with a blissful
atmosphere fitting with the holiness of the place. Fountains
transmits the uneasiness of being in front of the strange water
beings that try to communicate with us with whispers and odd sound.
Oduarpa is a melancholic song dedicated to a presumed Atlantidean
scientist who was supposed to practice bioengineering crossing
men and animals (a warn to our days by a lost world?). Lost
Atlantis is a touching march describing the destruction of
this mythical continent by waves and lava. The Land Of Sand
Of Gold Of Ruin has a quite blue atmosphere, a sad farewell
to life and humanity. Departure reprises the music of Lost
Atlantis with the voice of Francesca Nicoli that plays in
different languages "I don't mind the harmony of waters I'm looking
nothing but dissonances".
