Dedicated entirely to the medieval world and after two years from "Concerto n°6", HISTORIAE shows a different side of the band. For sure the influences of the Middle Ages were shown also on the other albums, but this one has got a different taste. I don’t know how to explain: maybe it’s because of the major use of instruments like trumpets, acoustic guitars and flutes that I feel this album different... The first six tracks were recorded into the studio during the 1997 Autumn Equinox and the other three were recorded live on the Spring Equinox into a medieval court of a castle here in Piedmont. Both the studio and live tracks have got the same touch, as they are part of a particular project. HISTORIAE has been thought as a sonorous book that carry to modern times medieval tales. Like on time travel, Ataraxia took the atmospheres of that century to let them flow through they fingers. This CD is sweet and particular...
