Ataraxia/Autunna et sa Rose Strange Lights/Logos
Packaged together as one release, this double album contains retrospectives from two of Italys legendary bands. Following a concert that brought them together at the church of St. Michele in Rovigo, these two bands have agreed to release the songs especially arranged for this momentous occasion on one CD. Ataraxias Strange Lights features soprano Francesca Nicoli with musical accompaniment by classical guitar, piano, bells, rattles, chimes and timpani drums. Seas of the Moon features spoken word lyrics accented by a chorus of male chanting. Other standout tracks include the playful Veules Les Roses, and Oduarpa, which is a reminiscent of a Mozart piano melody. The second disc contains the celestial and enchanting release Logos by Autunna et sa Rose. The album is comprised of male and female vocals accompanied by dark cello melodies and airy piano interludes. Most of the musical pieces start out slowly, and then build to lavish crescendos. Some of the songs are accented by recitation of provocative poetry which lends a solemn sense of mystery to the entire production. This double CD contains classic and new material from both artists and is a great innovation to introduce listeners to the hypnotically ethereal music of both of these fine bands. ~ Randy Rosko (Dark Realms Magazine, US) Issue
