Always something to keep us busy... You all know that ATARAXIA, as a non-normal band according to the actual meaning of the word, follow an entirely different program from the usual ones according to which the bands record an album every one or two years and then start touring. The creative explosion of the Italians has no period of depression, the new songs are being created not in certain moments but constantly, even during their visits to various enchanting sights of the world for their unique concerts. The result of the continuous compositional flaring up are the successive albums, whether they are compilations, live releases or studio recordings. By the way, who could dare label "Arcana Eco" as a compilation since all seven songs present an unrivalled interest, because four of them are brand new compositions ("Cobolt", "Misrilo", "Fire in the wood", "The Island of Doctour Moreati"), while the rest of the tracks are characterized by their novelties, the "Astimelusa" with different keyboard compositions, the "Nossa Senhora Dos Anjos" with a new recording and the "De Pourpre Et D' Argent" arranged in a baroque form.
The perfectly looked-after lay-out accompanies as well a filling cdr which contains an abundant material for the friends of ATARAXIA. Wondering about it? Take a long breath: Photos, lyrics, full discography, a huge volume of photos from ancient relics, an interview, 6 passages ("Stone", "Water", "Passages", "Dream", "Contemplation", "Light") that unfortunately I didn't manage to read because of my copy (or my pc, to be honest), credits, Pilgrimages and a lot of other goodies.
If my reviews of ATARAXIA till now (take into consideration that in the past printed form of Metal Invader they were clearly much more extensive) haven't succeed to convince you to pay attention to them, I guess I'll never make it happen. Let me have another last succinct try and all those convinced are welcome... The albums of the last five years are characterized by a pronounced turn to acoustic paths, abandoning the pompous intense tempos, rather during hypnosis, till the moment they will be placed again in the procedure of production, since all those who keep up with them all these years know how often they change their musical direction as well as the distinctive ease by which they mix primordial tunes in their strictly personal style. We've been over this many times, knowledge is being transmitted orally, art is being transmitted hand by hand and if the procedure of exchange of the teacher and the pupil is violently interrupted, then the restless spirits of tomorrow (one of them belongs to ATARAXIA) are being called as contemporary scouts to dig the ruins and unearth ancients secrets. The vibrations of yesterday are being transported to us through men that refuse to be compromised with the artificial today and, fortunately, in our case, ATARAXIA, from any point of view, seem to be not in the year of the lord 2005, but very, very far away... in the past, or the future, I do not know. What is certain is that Knowledge stands out there and our friends do their best to gain it.
